There is no finishing. Whatever challenge you clear, there is a higher threshold already waiting for you to be cleared. The challenges are much like some arcade game that never stops but just makes the enemies harder and faster with every iteration. You will run out of pocket money, before the game runs out of iterations.

When I was a kid, I became addicted to a game called Moon Cresta, in which your three lives were represented by a ship that came in three parts, and if each part lived long enough it could be joined by the next part, which would multiply its firepower. One day I got to stand and watch a couple of older boys play it for an extended period. One of them broke it... and what I mean by that is that he was presented with a new, healthy ship and the text "ENJOY ANOTHER GAME!"

If that's all you're getting, even with a Kleber in front of you, you're not playing it right.

I'm afraid that I have to disagree. I've been seeing a lot of games where the BXP ranges between 200 and 400 for the entire green team. You may be of the opinion that everyone in that match didn't know how to play their ships 'right' ... but given that I see several matches much like the sample below, I am disinclined to draw that conclusion.

There is no way to completely finish, in COOP, personal challenges.   1,400 in a COOP match simply is rarer than anti-gravity.  Operations are the only way for PVE mains.  I have all of the 1,200 done (not subs and two of the carriers I own ! - thanks AT !)

Indeed.

We could do the 1400 if we could get matches where we were the only player, and had a bit of luck with the green bots not getting too many kills. But the odds on that are poor to none.

To be honest, I've been more into working on my lower tier ships recently ... grinding a few lines that strike me as having some potential for fun. So I've only managed 600 at best, and frankly I'm just not fussed about it.

That's why I'm not even trying.

My expectations for this patch are that I should be able to walk away with the perma-econ bonus and permaskin for the Yumihari. If the ladder for damage in the second part of the Personal Challenges allows me to get enough tokens for the ship itself, that will be a spectacular bonus... but I'm not going to break myself trying.

I'm currently grinding the Nagato to 160,000 XP to be sure of getting the Yumihari on launch day, and am quite content to ride this slow train as the Nagato is being a lot of fun and bringing me some really spectacular co-op battles along the way. I began replaying the Nagato as soon as the new line was announced, so I'm currently a little over halfway to that goal. If I play it to the first daily crate every day, I will get there ahead of schedule and can take my time deciding which captain I will put in the Yumihari (the Nagato's captain is currently being groomed as a secondaries specialist, so she may or may not be a good fit to take up to the Bungo).

That would be nice and I recommended what I called a "Challenge Mode" where the MM 1x7 or 2x7 bug created a one or two human COOP match.  In what I've suggested, the 1x7 would be the way to "get close" to 1,400.....

I'm at 1,200 for surface ships and I don't play Subs and only have one sub.  The Carriers are all 600 with two of them at 1,200.  Now, its to Operations for 1,400 mission in all Nations....  I have two down this AM and we play most nights so........it may be possible.

I did spend the few dubs I had left from last year and I own the Tier 8 IJN BB....  The next goal is as many 1,400 or more before we change currency.....  We'll see what happens.

Now you know why we're not running Asymmetric Battles in this patch!!!!

What do you mean? We're not changing currency; we're changing the hurdles we have to jump in order to earn the same currency.

Yeah, it is just a "Coo-inky-dink" I am sure.........  I don't need the sacred charcoal, water pattern patch knife and the Chicken to figure that out......  But thanks for the reminder.

Phase one is BXP and phased two is something else....  And, I am sure their spreadsheet GoD has figured out, to the nth degree, just how little was can get for so much more.   I bet he/she/them were tax collectors before working for this game....

....people absolutely wrecking face in Aegis with Anshan or Gnevny,...

Well.....I can't comment on Gnevny and Anshan could indeed  do some nice stuff, but  for me was Yaigle dat boat. Max was like 32-38 cits, both BB's ( Kongo's, I think?) and sometimes the Fuso as well along with other cruisers.

Essentially, one had to go in the first smoke( bot DD) then start shooting at the incoming first wave while letting go of a salvo of fish. After launching, leave the smoke and head NE, get close to the incoming botlemmingtrain, while positioning paralell to them. When spotted smoke up, and the massacre/fiesta would begin. it was a good idea to save the fish for the occasional babbie(s). After that, head for the opening, where the convoy cruisers where appearing and do some more stuff. Convoy cleared, push engine boost and head N towards the BB's in the narrow channel , get into spotting range, smoke up launch fish, while shooting some HE, to overload the DCP. Repeat for the second BB, then head for the Fuso.

It was  a bit like pulling the whiskers of a sleeping tiger CEA6E894-E387-48B3-8A85-84C4AD6E173D.gif

Aka  FD2B6250-9A3F-4669-9AF8-E5944952A4AD.gif

Assuming, that the occasional Cv wouldn't ruin a perfect line up, by making the bots turn

Anshan is a bit less maneuverable, has fever guns (and with a bit longer reload) also torps do less dmg vs Yaigle. And her guns have  an awful turning rate, that being an big dealbreaker  for me, generally.

Phase 2 is damage, with the low rung set at 25,000. I wish I'd paid the PTS for this patch more attention; I could have got a sneak peek at what the other rungs are likely to be.

I decided to meet Personal Challenges by playing Operations, after clearing in Co-op the 300 Base XP hurdle per nation.

It has been a very productive week of achieving Base XP scores, and I was able to play and enjoy ships that I have not even looked at for more than 6 months already. Amalfi in Narai was particularly fun, and so was De Zeven.

I'm not yet keen to play in PVP now as I would rather continue having a good and productive time in Operations.

I know the personal challenges can be achieved in Randoms, and in previous iterations that was the battle mode where I did it, but it was ultimately a less productive endeavor. There is just too much randomness involved (matchmaking, skill levels, overmatch, submarines, AFKs, griefers, bots, etc.) for it to be consistently productive as far as getting those tokens are concerned.

And for such a limited amount of time, I find doing personal challenges in a random mode is like crippling my already scarce play time even before I have pressed the Battle button.

Hey, do what works! (And at least we get unlimited tries, which is more than one can say for Naval Battles.)

Out of curiosity, is 1400 the top rung or does it go higher?

Highest bar is at 1800 Base XP.

The player who has all tech trees, time on their hands and ability to do well could harvest a metric F-ton of stuff from this event.

Thanks for clarifying. On my end, I can only see 1800 max.
