This is my record 120 Defended ribbons in single battle. Sometimes I have problems with get it together with damage upon spotting!

That's amazing. 😎

(I know Brawl is very good for defence ribbon farming, but I never before saw it be THIS good!!)

It’s very good if you get the right ship and enemy (and allied) team. My record is from a brawl last March:

Admittedly I did let my secondaries keep farming resets off a Pommern that wanted to sit in cap, since the win was already guaranteed. But it’s still my cap 174 times over.

Wow.

The problem I found with that is that Rupprecht and Schlieffen secondaries fire so often, it can be difficult for the target to accumulate cap points to be removed. I've needed to hit/toggle P in order to let them build up again.

If I recall correctly, cap progress during that brawl was pretty fast, so most reloads there was at least something to reset for a ribbon. In other modes, you would probably have to turn your secondaries off every now and then to build up enough progress for a ribbon.
