It’s a country that straddles the Caucasus mountains, which is considered by many to be part of the border between Europe and Asia (although opinions vary widely on where exactly Europe ends and Asia begins). Turkey is also a participant despite the majority of its territory being unambiguously located in west Asia. For Georgians I suspect the distinction is primarily cultural rather than geographical.
