Buffs in Russia but not EU?!?

I was totally unaware of this. So apparently Russia server gets some huge buffs to ships but not EU? Is this standard or something a tad sus?

Hayate apparently gets a extra consumable so it can run both TRB and smoke.

Kremlin gets its old more tanky AA mounts

Henri IV seems to have almost gotten its old mega acceleration as it had pre-nerf?

But only in Russia...?

Same origins. Two different companies & two different games.

So yeah, only in Russia (tbh, CIS-region)

Replace some words and you get a fairly accurate description of Russia -vs- Rest of the world, just sayin’......

I wonder if they have the same clunky fix to the railgun bug as NA/EU, or if they have the devs that can actually fix stuff.

That bug and "fix" was pre split.... so I'd guess the same.

The game was split like a year or so ago due to the whole Russia/Ukraine war. WG divested itself of all things Russian (appearances anyway). WG kept NA/EU/SEA servers and will develop the game for those 3 servers. The RU server is run/developed by a different company now (Lesta?) and has its own direction. It's the same basic game but now they are heading in different directions and there are differences. If you see info posted on Reddit, a streamers site, here, etc... from the RU DevBlog or news site talking about additions, buffs and nerfs, etc... don't expect to see the same on NA/EU/SEA unless you see the same info on the non RU DevBlog or respective server news site.

This.

It's actually good for us as we can see the effects of changes on the meta and can advocate for the good changes in our servers...

...or at least that's the theory.

At least judging from what I've seen, some players are angry that why these changes that are going to fix some rather infamous underpowered ships aren't copied immediately. And some worry that judging from how Western WG is handling Schill (especially comparing with Lesta's approach), they are pessimistic about whether the changes will ever be copied.

Replying to the OP, some more active and/or attentive players have been discussing on this topic from 31 August.

why is this a big deal and news to some people?

CHN split around patch 7.10

RU is a different game.

Arguing what 'they' have is about as poignant as pointing out what Warchunder or Age of Aardvarks has.

As if Chinese players were proud playing in a server without any new contents then, not to say that has ended in 2020. And you are getting basic facts wrong, that's Patch 0.7.2.

The situation indicates that the primary development team has remained in Russia and it is possible that we will not benefit from their proposed balance fixes due to nominally they are serving only their Russian audience.

Being nominally different games does not change the fact that the vast majority aspects of them remain the same.

Also after much protest and review-bombing, WT gamers forced Gaijin entertainment to make concessions on that game's in game economics. Do you honestly think that event has absolutely nothing worthwhile learning for us?

exactly....

I noticed a month or so ago that the Serbian team had a franchise manager as well as many fresh new faces...

Is it safe to assume NA falls under Serb dev team?

Yes.

NA, ASIA & EU all run the same game 👍

That's why things like Clan Battles & Naval Battles can be between Clans from those different servers.

And the Chinese Server is back up to getting current releases. There are CN server teams in the International King of the Seas tournaments now.

The CIS server however is not in KOTS.

It's hard to say that with certainty.  I suspect there are some lasting technical ties, but I also suspect different servers can run different ship attributes since those are just database values.

In the end though, it does make the argument what WG should take the time to maintain older ships to the current meta.  If the smaller RU market can do it, there's no reason the combined 3 to 4x size rest of the world market can't do it too.
