I think it would be great if WG put all these new BS game modes into a unique "Random 2.0" mode for themselves and just kept 3-4 cap dom mode and Standard battle in regular Random. This way those who would like to play "more normal" modes where you can actually think for yourself and are not forced into suicide bubbles in the middle of the map could actually play with brain and for those who would like to lol around in Airship, Arms race, and all the other gimmicky modes could choose to do it. I mean, I can appreciate playing Airship if I know it was that mode so I could pick a decent ship and actually have fun. My suspicion is that WG didn't want folks to be able to queue up in tailor-made divs to farm a particular game mode. IIRC Airship strongly favored secondary builds while past versions of Convoy could be cheesed with smoke-botting. No doubt "New Arms Race" will also favor certain ship combinations. SureBridge Posted June 11 Share Posted June 11 While WG has introduced some utter dog dribble (cough piniata cough) modes in the last couple of years, they have also added some good stuff. I'll admit that given a choice between "Random stuff that's supposed to encourage brawling" and Asymm, I'd choose asymm every time. But that's really "Co-op 2.0". I'll probably play a bunch of "wheel of misfortune" because I really liked convoy escort, and airship escort is also fun if you're in the mood for it. I would probably stumble into it on drunken evenings from time to time but I would Never EVER choose to play as DD. But playing for example Jinan and just flood those channels with torps in Airship Escort and like most other 90% of the team, give Zero fakks about the objective, would be fun experience. Also fun that WG tries to invent game modes to encourage brawling while at the same time flooding the game with classes and ships that totally negates any of that. I like arms race but if they wanted to try something different here maybe add some new upgrades(speed boosts: +5% speed, -5%(-10% BBs) rudder shift, consumables: +1 to all consumables, support: +5% to all consumable action time, -5% cooldown, etc.) and spice it up a bit.
