duck out for a quick durry.

A what?  When I search, Google insists that what I'm really curious about is furries.  Yes, I've had a furry or two.  [Otherwise there's a band somewhere called Durry.]

So I'm guessing it's either a dram of something fiery, or something one practices in a water closet.  ?

I won't mention use of the term 'duck'.

Depends.  If I fudged up badly, I will usually slink away.  If I played well and still was sunk, I tend to hang around to see how the battle played out, and how I placed on the score board.

Google search: What is a Durry slang for?

Noun. durry (plural durries) (Australia, New Zealand, colloquial) A cigarette, especially a roll-your-own.

Google has a lot to answer for, promoting one preversion** over another.

Still, I did guess "something fiery".
