I'm fresh out of songs about the Alaska gold rush. I'd need AI to write one for me...

The only thing that brings to mind is Lily Langtry.

Most of the riddles here are a little too tough for me, so here's an easy one. Tip: it's a movie, and it has one memorable line. Could have several, but I think one of them tops the others.

I'll give it to you because it's the same singer. When it's Springtime in Alaska.

The  ≠  should be read as: there are no.....

Quote

The not equal sign is used to indicate inequality, when two things are not equal to one another. For example, 0 is not equal to 1, which we express as 1 ≠ 0. The not equal sign takes the form of the equal sign with a slash through it.

I'm guessing the quote from "Major League II"

Quote

Tanaka : You know, you have no... you have no...

[looks in translation book]

Tanaka : Marbles!

Name the song. Hint: singer/songwriter is iconic and still alive.

Nice. I swapped the picture to make it a little clearer which movie I was referring to, and the line is question... well, that's still something nobody has figured out from the clue in the picture.

Have you had any chance trying to crack @Andrewbassg 's lethal Christmas nut?

Nice try. HH actually figured out the correct movie (those are not marbles they are ball bearings). Nobody's yet said the line which is hidden in the image as well, in plain sight.

Well, I have a confession to make. The quote is a very, VERY famous one, yet apparently, for reasons  I cannot fathom,  wasn't in the movie!! Smile_unsure.gif.5c9a19dff1d657c6e5a1856Looked it up and .......its not there. Just like  with this movie....

....the famous quote( Either I will be decorated, or I will be court-martialed. Fire !)

is missing .Smile_amazed.gif.28479b334f88f3e0b24d84b Apparently filmmakers don't like being spoonfed D4250899-7637-4DB1-9393-24C11B63FACC.gifOr somethin...

It goes like:

There are no .............

At least that boy has his shirttail tucked in his trousers, I kid you not.

*edit* there were marbles made of metal balls, we called them steelies.

'Another choice of some marble players was the steelie. These were preferred by players because their density could easily knock glass marbles out of a ring and they don’t chip or crack. However, they were banned from tournament play. Many steelies are merely ball bearings, but some are handmade hollow spheres that required a great deal of time to make.'

https://www.marblecollecting.com/marble-reference/online-marble-id-guide/non-glass-marbles/

The metal balls Commander Queeg constantly played with represented him 'loosing his marbles' so to speak. That is, loosing his mind.

https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/lose-your-marbles.html

*end edit*

Interesting, as for the sinking of the Blücher, I allowed myself to cheat and looked that up. Apparently what's missing there is this: 'He responded with his now famous response; "Either I will be decorated or I will be court martialled. Fire!"' (Wikipedia).

Doesn't help me with your riddle, though, thanks for the tip.

There are no ....

... second chances?

... heroes in this world?

Right now can't figure out much else...

It's by a rather famous author who wrote under a pseudonym.
