Guess the movie quote from an AI rendition

Nice song, but the wrong one, same goes for the Eye in the Sky though, that was AI's interpretation of the lyrics. This wasn't a very well constructed riddle, more a demonstration of what kind of stuff the AI gives you.

You have to start with an.. elf, and work from there to get to the rainbow, where the sun is a wheel. I wish I could construct my riddles the same way as @Snargfargle does, but I haven't figured out yet how to do that. Not that I generally get his clues right but that's another matter....

Maybe it's best because it was wrong. This is a song by a very well known band. It's not Nazgul, AFAIK, there's no connection to Tolkien. Elf was something else. Rainbow's something too.

Is it a man on a silver mountain?

Don't tell this to anyone, but I suspect some people resort to magic and turn to a wizard known as Google for help.

I'll definitely use Google (well, actually DuckDuckGo) to confirm something my mind is telling me is in a cluster of synapses somewhere but I can't quite put a mental finger on it. Sometimes I get the riddle instantly, like with Streets of Laredo, because I had just played the song on my guitar when your image was posted. At other times I have to do quite a bit of thinking and research.

Yes, there's a lot of factors. Like the song Journey that was the right answer, never actually heard that one. Then again, never been big on ballads, for the most part.

I'm listening to that right now. Not my cup of tea but it's worth one playing. I never listened to Richie Blackamoor's solo stuff but I do remember Deep Purple. Smoke on the Water was one of the biggest hits when I was in high school.

OK, the hint here is that it's an 80s song and the lead singer is also one of the greatest guitarists of the modern rock era.

Nope.

Hint: this song was a super hit when it was covered.

Don't go, Yazoo!

"Came in from the city, walked into the door
Turned around when I heard the sound of footsteps on the floor.
Love just like addiction now I'm hooked on you
Need some time to get it right
Your love's gonna see me through"

oh memory lane.....

Nope, but the lyrics do contain some religious imagery. Take the picture literally.

OK, some of the imagery in the song and the picture. Most people think the song is just a catchy tune but it's actually a lesson in the philosophy of opposites.

All of these ideas are literally or allegorically in the song:

  • Man/Woman
  • Non-living/Life
  • Entrance/Exit
  • Happiness/Sadness
  • Perfection/Imperfection
  • Creation/Fall from creation
  • Faith/Betrayal
  • Reality/Illusion
  • Freedom/Captivity
  • Caring/Uncaring
  • Existence/Nothingness
  • Communication/Silence
  • The Veil/The Veil rendered
  • Warmth/Coldness
  • Dignified/Undignified
  • Unbroken/Broken
  • Everything seems right/nothing is right
  • Fortune/Fate
  • Lucky/Unlucky
  • Having/Missing
  • I thought I knew you/I didn't know you at all

The ultimate hint:

The name of the band that the songwriters formed and toured with in America is phonetically, if not literally, in this picture if you know what to look for.

OK, while you all are mulling over the last one. Why am I showing you picture of Laura Croft and Topper Harley with my AI image? The proper answer isn't just a song's title but rather in the connections between the movies and the song. Difficulty rating: expert.

No, you didn't... I'd never have figured that one out on that image alone. Looked like another big spender to me...

Have you looked at my second to the last one? I wasn't kidding when I said the song is a philosophical lesson in opposition. I've even added more words that are either literally in the lyrics or there as synonyms, ideas, concepts, or allegories.

  • Happiness/Sadness
  • Perfection/Imperfection

  • I thought I knew you/I didn't know you at all
  • Comes around/goes around
  • Adoration/indifference
  • Knowledge/ignorance
  • feeling/unfeeling
  • Light/Darkness
  • Here/there
  • Touching/unable to touch
  • punctual/late
  • Clothed/unclothed
