Asym tweaked?

Maybe just bad RNG but I've had 3 highly unusual games in a row just now. The first, what seems to have been a detonation from a single Allende torp to my Montana's belt (2/3hp remaining to dead immediately, 60K gone in one torp). Then two battles in row where my Schlieffen's been set on multiple fires immediately and had its torpedo tubes "destroyed" within the first few volleys. 

Not playing any differently than I have, same strat, not over pushing, not showing my sides, using hydro, etc, etc, etc... But also not landing shells and the amount of damage I'm taking has ramped up to 11.

My day in the gimp suit? Or has something been changed?

Hmm... perhaps. 

Said it from WOT closed beta... Sometimes you're Rambo, sometimes you're Mr. Magoo. Nothing has ever changed in that department.

I have not been Tweeked !  Gosh guys, Asym is nominal and performing per doctrinal standards....and, I feel good....  thanks for asking.  Hooah !  [saluting Emoji]

It hasn't been "tweaked" you're just going through some tough RNG.

I have a memory about detonations think I was in the then horrible Izumo in my first grind i.e. in the really old days and I was detonated 2 games in 3. OTOH I have recieved 4 ships in supercontainers in 15 boxes (or so) some years ago (the old version) so then my anger went into extreme joy instead. It is the same now in Asymmetric a few games in a row it is domination vs 5 - 6 DDs and your team have 0 DDs and a sub which makes it more or less lost beforehand, and then you got standard battle on trident or neighbours where victory is more or less assured if you park yourself strategic towards the center advance several games in a row. They come in streaks which is according to random events over a large numbers of trials.

It is the same with heads or tales, if you simulate large numbers you will have some large streaks of heads and tales in a row in your sample.

Detonations are one thing... the math on that is at least officially published. Broken torp launchers, though?

It was discovered only a short time before WG killed the official forums that torp launcher health was determined by RNG, at the start of each match, on a per-launcher basis. It's entirely possible to get such a terrible roll on your launcher HP that a passing seagull taking a particularly large dump in its general vicinity will break it. You can get rolls so bad that a single BB-caliber HE shell hitting the wrong place could conceivably break all of your launchers, in one hit, if they're grouped closely enough together. The game doesn't even tell you how much HP it spawned your modules with. You have no way of knowing how poorly your rolls went until the tiniest bit of splash damage somewhere in your area code starts breaking things.

Long story short, if it feels like the game is screwing you... it probably is.

Yeah WG loves RNG, RNG is a cheap way of balancing esp when important stuff such as modules HP or shell dispersion is largely determined by it and since they use RNG  basically wherever they think they can get away with, well, piling it one on top of the other like that can yield, shall we say, some interesting results...

WG is basically using casino mechanics with that RNG...

Yeah getting into a match and having a Scharnhorst '43 torp launcher get destroyed by a single pair of max range DD HE rounds landing at the start of the match is outright infuriating. Not incapped, flat out destroyed. The module health RNG can be absolutely ruthless especially on builds where you took secondary and AA mount durability in slot one because half your build revolves around those secondaries staying alive.

Same with Scharnhorst '43 all last day and until I played at night... Only 1 salvo= 1 one side of torps destroyed. Most of the times that salvo was fired from Tiger or Celebes I think.

EDIT: Yep. sec. build, I even think that I have for 1 captain point skill to prevent incapatitation (depending of captain).... Result same with or without Lutjens.

Btw. one more weird stuff notice - I am not sure if that should be like that: Even dd try to hide - no way... Where is dd - there are also airplanes (and dd was unspotted). If dd turns left - airplanes turn left and same where ever moves dd.... Very very strange... Heck I didn't even seen not even single CV player to play like that... Strange.

Bots are given the location of every unit in the match automatically, and programmed to go after the lowest HP target they have LOS to, I believe.  This is why enemy DDs and planes seem to see DDs and Subs that normally can't be seen, and circle around them.

Yep. "Luckily" mods exist.

But tbh......I'm not keen on this kind of information, for the same reasons, for which I'm not curious, in battle, about stats.

Great mod. Won't help much though when they're knocked out in the first couple long range HE volleys!

Had my Kidd's torp launcher (the only one) "Destroyed" by a random HE shell in Newport earlier tonight. I didn't even try to dodge. Just one shell you know... "Torpedo Tubes Destroyed!"... kek

Hmm I've been wondering if detonation could happen for the player, I was hoping it was like operations and not possible. Guess I'll be adding the flag back.

Well, suddenly this week, I am at about 50/50 win/loss on asym battles, certainly losing more battles than before.  Only difference is I am playing more during the day rather than just mostly evenings.  Probably RNG, but enough of a difference that I noted it.

I lost one earlier today because a Kansas and a Sub decided to chase 1 battleship all the way into the corner leaving me to defend the base. Got it down to 1 ship but couldn't get one more salvo off for a reset.
