Map details

Most of us give the WoWS art department a lot of credit for the detail and appeal they build into the visuals of this game.

The maps are no exception.  The skies, ocean, and islands are full of variety and incredible visuals.

The islands also have a lot of interesting details added to them.  Villages, airfields, volcanoes, temples, castle ruins, and other grand structures (some even historical) dot the islands.  There are sunken ship hulks, and a lot of boats and ships moored at or near islands (a few are historic).

If you look closely, however, you may see some interesting details that may be missed by the casual eye.  Here are a few I have noticed, and to prevent creating one large post I will break each island into it's own post, starting with a familiar one:

Fault Line

The lion's head has been around for a long time:

Strait

The center island on this map was changed quite a while ago to be engulfed in flames.  Don't fret, however, as the fire services are working to control the blaze (animated water drops, too!):

Two Brothers

Another map with a later addition was this scorched tree high on the mountain.  If your game on this map includes a storm, this tree will be struck by lightning at some point.  Even if there isn't a storm, if you look closely at it, a ghostly figure will peek out from behind the tree (it has two little white eye spots, if you can't see it in the pic):

Land of Fire

Two of the islands on this map have mining operations underway, complete with animated excavators and sound:

New Dawn

This is an interesting one.  There is a neat village on the water, and nearby is a lengthy, rickety walking bridge.  But, also check out this cave hidden in an enclosed lake.  There is a small boat in front, it is lit from within, and there appears to be some kind of painting on the cave wall:
