A good many of you are probably past this first mission, but in case (like me) you are not, here's something to bear in mind:

 

"Caused flooding" ribbons are so typically associated with torpedo hits that we forget the other ways to get them if our ships don't have torps.

1) Ramming, and less fatally...

2) Depth-charging submarines.
