Just got - Abruzzi 🙂 Buy from dubs some of that crates in chain in armory in which is also 10k coal and 2+5 days of premium, spent for all around 1200 dubs and got - Abruzzi 🙂 In chain I was going only until standard crates with camos which I didn't buy. Rest of chain didn't buy also. All before that gave me some of eco bonuses, some of flags, some of camo, 7 days premium, 10 k coal, commander exp, and Abruzzi 🙂 This is my second ship today 🙂

No, it's not quite the same as when she came bundled with a money printer, but she's still a Tier 9 premium and arguably the rarest of the rare birds (there are, after all, three Kamikazes; so your chances of getting at least one in your port are higher). I didn't have enough elite ship XP to convert when she was first pulled and I wasn't going to whale her just for the credit boost when the economy changed; now by the grace of God she's fallen into my hands for a ridiculously small sum and I'm counting my lucky stars here.

(Mind you, I have done a LOT of whaling over the past couple of Christmases and closed off a lot of the other options, both with crates and with some other rare ships when they were openly available, so I suppose this could be regarded as my chickens coming home to roost in a nice way.)

My daughter heard me exclaim my surprise and asked me "Did you win a ship?", and I replied "Not just a ship; the ship."

Credits shouldn't be in the Mega crates IMO. Getting them is very disappointing.

They are Exeter, De Grasse, Tirpitz, Halford, Strasbourg, San Diego, Marblehead L and Krasny Krym. San Diego and Tirpitz are the 2 ships I want. The rest are meh. I should still have 2X Santa's Big Gift containers and 5X Santa's Mega Gift containers coming.

This year’s Santa Gifts marks one of the—if not the best—returns I got. Wargaming gave a lot of premium ships for the price of 20 Mega Gifts, and I still could hardly believe it, even after I purchased the new ships' upgrades, which are currently on sale at -50% off.

I’ve been using birthday coupons when getting Santa Gifts, to minimize actual costs and maximize returns. Last year got me the ships I wanted: Musashi, Benham, and the Kutuzov. The year before that the Belfast and the Fujin.

This year, there are 2 new premium ships that I was very interested on—the Tier IX battleships Karl XIV Johan, and the Scarlet Thunder. I declined to get them when they were first released due to their as usual ‘premium’ prices. Both are ruinously expensive, more so in Scarlet’s case, as it was available only in Random Bundles. There was no way I could afford them.

(From my New Year Certificates and the free Santa’s gifts in the Armory, I got the Leipzig and the West Virginia ’44, as well as 5,000 doubloons.)

When the birthday coupon for this year finally arrived, I stuck to the plan and used it to get just enough doubloons, to be able to get mega gifts from the Armory. I got 20 of the biggest ones, and then did the seasonal routine of opening containers every December. All I wanted were the two ships, the Karl XIV Johan, and the Scarlet Thunder.

What came next was totally unexpected.

Since I still have some doubloons left, I decided to get another 20 mega gifts. I got 4 ships, including one Tier VIII German ship the Schill, that I also could not afford when it was released because like the Karl, Velos, and Sun Yat-Sen, it was also prohibitively expensive.
