The sleds are called paravanes for minesweeping. BB's for minesweeping? I was not aware that BB's did that action. You learn something new everyday. You learn something new everyday. Paravanes are modelled even on some aircraft carriers. And it seems that they do work well against old-fashioned mooring mines. I recall having read the war memoir of an Australian naval officer, claiming that the County-class heavy cruiser he served on disarmed about 3 Japanese mooring mines by her own with paravanes.
