Smoked up the Moskva on my team, punished the Colombo for trying to charge the smoke, and saw the torp spread from the Balao being shot from where he shouldn't be and then just let him have entire strings of depth charges. OT2_2 Posted December 30, 2023 Share Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) Nice battle and good performance of USS Benson in an Asym. Battle. Not a specifically easy training ground for DD and CL. A sub and me had been the last survivors, and we prevailed. I do love the good allround characteristics of US - DDs in general. Grinding IX Fletcher. I started late with this tech - tree, but got totally convinced of them. Actually since Clemson / Nicholas. Lost two karma, but was already low, because you get reported in ranked, whatever you do. They were furious in chat mentioning WG and shotgunning. In fact, there was not much shotgunning. I capped a center, and it started to turn red after a while. I thought the red sub was up and capping, so I popped up just to face a Regolo racing towards my bow. Then it was a chicken game, I hold my fire, he turned to the left, the rest is history. Also launched my last torps into the red Satsuma from close range, but she was already low, and I could have finished her while hiding, but decided to charge her to make it quicker and more exciting. Also the red U-4501 had a great game. We avoided each other because he went for another cap in the beginning, and I decided to get that cap, instead of chasing her, which is nearly impossible in case of the U-4501. I havent’t been playing them since, as I found them boring. I opened an I-56 from a Santa crate, but was not really impressed. I also picked up U-4501 for coal, as she was rumored to be OP… well she is. One of the best light cruisers in game IMHO, agile and absolutely deadly with her superb combination of strong guns, smoke and real torps. Although German I have to admit that the Japanese butchers like Ashitaka and Hyuga are performing better for me. OT2_2 Posted January 5 Share Posted January 5 Top result with one of the worst DD available. She really is, but the result was stunning though. I used her consequently with AP against broadside cruisers and BB and at long range if possible.
