I don't really want to play tier 10-11 ranked... I'm going through the Shimakaze line for the RPs, using free XP only on the modules. Currently at Yuugumo, using TRB instead of smoke. I always found this line to be the better one. Sure, Akizuki and Kitakaze might be stronger, but I find TRB Kagerou and Yuugumo to be just more fun. Even before them, I prefer Mutsuki-Akatsuki over Minekaze-Shiratsuyu (although I have a soft spot for Hatsuharu, she used to have usable AA before the CV rework...). Anyway: WG told us submarines don't get inflated base XP, compared to other ships. Yeah, sure.... Replay and other screenshots here. Afaik that's one those 'don't ask, don't tell' things they do. I don't remember ever reading or watching them clearly negating the bonus XP for Subs... it's pretty evident, would be silly to negate it (the same applies to the malus XP for CVs). If it was early on and knowing how WoWS manage information, most likely the CMs weren't even aware of the bonus XP for Subs at the time. Subs should really be called Supership DDs in this game. They can do everything that DDs do but just 100 times better, with Zero risk and Mega Buffed rewards. Always good for "Top 3 on team" or "Base XP" missions Even when you get that super glue team that suicides in 5 min you still top dog and have a pretty nice game. Reds brought it back, 2v2 at the end and I had to rush into a cap to stop their points from overtaking us. A second too late, but their Yamato was right there, and their CV had me spotted.
